Twin townhouses with a light exterior and distinct interior personalities for two separate clients. These generous 290m² homes provide a sensitive development solution on one site which doesn’t dominate the neighbourhood, rather the project supplies dual architectural homes that consist of 4-bedroom & 4-bathrooms and have ample outdoor & internal living spaces with secure off street carparking.

Sharp-pitched roofs, silver timber cladding, and bold black accents create a striking visual language along the streetscape, with each home mirroring the other in form and proportion. The external appearance of both dwellings has been designed to create cohesion and rhythm, offering a sense of unity between the two while still maintaining individuality and separation. Internally, however, each home reflects the unique lifestyle and personality of its residents. High raked ceilings, generous voids, and strategically positioned glazed windows and doors help ensure both dwellings feel open, light-filled, and spacious—like standalone homes that just happen to share a common wall.

The design maximizes the use of a single inner-city block to provide high-quality, affordable housing tailored to meet the needs of two growing families. A key priority was to deliver contemporary, light-filled spaces that are both practical for day-to-day living and ideal for entertaining. The floorplans were designed with functionality and flexibility in mind, encouraging natural light to flood through the interiors while offering private zones and communal areas.

Each residence features a guest bedroom and bathroom located at the front of the home on the ground level. These spaces are buffered by a cleverly concealed laundry, powder room, a secondary living area, and an internal courtyard. This thoughtful layout allows for separation and independence from the main open-plan kitchen, dining, and living areas that flow out to private outdoor entertaining spaces.

Upstairs, privacy is key. The master suite is positioned at the front of the home and features large windows, pitched ceilings, and soft sheer drapes. Children’s bedrooms and a central bathroom are located at the rear, separated by a stairwell that creates a distinct division between adult and children’s zones, fostering both privacy and family connection.

The interior schemes embrace a modern, transitional aesthetic, combining sleek, minimalist design with tactile materials. A mix of light and dark tones is balanced with natural oak, timber paneling, and textured stone and concrete surfaces. Designer fixtures add sophistication, while concealed elements create moments of surprise and maintain a clean, refined finish.

At the rear, the property faces a busy street, so a detached garage with turntable was integrated to allow private parking and easy access. Clad in black timber battens, the structure doubles as built-in seating and a green wall support, blending seamlessly into the landscaped garden.
